Kliff's House Of Relatively Unusual Activities

We had all gathered for a night of wining and dining in Edmond's luxuriant Shoreside Manor. After the meal, we gathered in his den to smoke, drink, and make merry. It was there that Edmond announced the reason he had gathered us all, to celebrate Kliff's most recent find:
a mysterious blood red jewel, which he had found clutched in the hands of an ancient skeleton.

As Kliff regaled us with the frightening tale of how he came upon the jewel, Edmond left to
retrieve the precious item. By the time Kliff had finished his story, we realized that Edmond
had been gone for over an hour. We were about to go looking, when we heard the scream. We raced out of the room, and found The Maid quaking over the body of our host, the jewel nowhere to be seen.
It seemed this night had turned foul, and we were now left to solve one big question.
